Improving participant communication and engagement continues to be a top priority across the public sector and a topic that consistently draws strong interest from NAGDCA members.

To expand on NAGDCA’s insights, we’re launching the 2026 Communications and Engagement Survey. First conducted in 2020, the survey provides a comprehensive look at how public sector plans are communicating with participants today and practical benchmarks and ideas that can be applied across plan types. This year’s update will also help track how strategies are evolving over time.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. We are requesting one response per government member organization. If multiple plans are maintained, please provide responses based on the plan with the largest assets, or submit multiple responses if that better reflects your organization.

This year’s survey explores:

  • How plans are communicating with participants today
  • Key messages, goals, and success measures
  • Emerging trends and evolving strategies
  • Approaches to participant engagement across plan types

Please feel free to share the survey with recordkeepers, consultants, or other service providers to assist with completing responses as needed.
