The Executive Board has agreed to adopt a change to NAGDCA’s legislative priority that will encourage the House and Senate to introduce and pass a resolution that declares the month of October as National Retirement Security Month in 2020. The adjustment from a week-long to a month-long celebration, recommended by NAGDCA’s Legislative Committee, was requested to allow plan sponsors greater flexibility in executing promotions and events during October when it works best for employers and participants.
NAGDCA continues to encourage members to execute campaigns and promotions aimed at elevating the importance of personal retirement planning year-round when it makes the most sense for the plan and its participants. In 2019 NAGDCA members were already utilizing the entire month of October to promote the platform of National Retirement Security Week – now Month.
