Comprehensive data and insightful analysis are at the heart of good decision making, and through the creation of the Public Retirement Research Lab (PRRL) and the online benchmarking portal NAGDCA strives to provide our members access to information and data available nowhere else.
Public Retirement Research Lab (PRRL)
In 2020, NAGDCA and the Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI) launched the Public Retirement Research Lab (PRRL). This collaborative project created a first-of-its-kind database for public sector defined contribution retirement plan information. Plans that participate in the PRRL have access to research, reports, and the online benchmarking tool.
Benchmarking Data Portal
Plans that participate in the PRRL can use our custom-designed benchmarking portal to compare their plan information to their peers to ensure they are offering the best plans available. The portal is driven by data collected through the PRRL and is maintained by our team so it stays up-to-date and relevant.
PRRL Research
PRRL research provides an overview and analysis of the annual plan- and participant-level data collected from record keepers. Annual releases include an annual report on the “State of Public Sector Defined Contribution Plans” and various study snapshots that provide a deep dive into the data.
