As the Client Relationship Leader for Voya’s Government Markets business, Brian Merrick is responsible for more than 200 public-sector clients, representing more than 3 million participants and approximately $200 billion in assets. His team includes client relationship managers who partner with clients on strategic planning, program management, and overall engagement with Voya and its services.
Over his 30-year career in financial services, Brian has held leadership positions in operations, project management, management consulting, client relationship management, and technology product management. Throughout these roles, he has developed new service delivery models, built and developed teams, and forged relationships with partners across his organization and throughout the retirement services industry.
Brian joined Voya Financial in 2008 and has served in several leadership roles, including Customer Services Director, where he was responsible for the day-to-day administration of Voya’s largest government market clients. He spent 11 years as a client relationship manager before moving to Voya’s technology organization in 2022 to lead and expand its technology product management team. He later assumed his current role leading client relationships for the Government Markets business.
Prior to joining Voya, Brian spent three years as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting and nine years in operations and new business implementation at Putnam Investments.
