NAGDCA is pleased to announce that Malia Bonham, Defined Contribution Plan Manager at the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (WADRS), has been elected to serve as the association’s 2025-2026 Executive Board Member-at-Large.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the retirement industry, Malia brings a unique perspective from administering both local and state defined contribution plans totaling more than $32 billion. She is passionate about transforming how participants engage with their retirement plans while advancing fiduciary excellence, equity, and strategic partnerships.
Throughout her career, Malia has led initiatives focused on fiduciary oversight, plan modernization, and participant-focused innovation, including Seattle’s award-winning In-Language Campaign, which earned NAGDCA’s Presidential Award. Her leadership experience spans stakeholder engagement, governance, and policy development, making her a strong addition to the NAGDCA Board.
