Nicholas Amaral, Vice President of Analytics, Fidelity
As a Vice President of Analytics for Fidelity’s Tax-Exempt Market, Nicholas Amaral is responsible for leadership of the Tax-Exempt Market Analytics Center of Excellence, which develops and delivers analytics capabilities for Fidelity’s nonprofit retirement plan sponsors. A significant part of Nick’s team’s work involves applying advanced data science and artificial intelligence techniques to inform and design solutions that address TEM organization challenges. This includes leveraging machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and other AI tools to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets. Since the day Nick started at Fidelity in 2002, he has fostered an intellectual curiosity and passion for data driven insights to help leaders at Fidelity and clients make decisions in their organizations.
Bridget Bearden, PhD, Research & Development Strategist, EBRI
Bridget Bearden is a Research and Development Strategist and member of the leadership team at the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI). She helps to establish new strategic partnerships, expand membership, execute proprietary survey research, and contribute to EBRI’s in-person events. Her current research projects include EBRI’s biannual Spending in Retirement survey, and examining benefits that can improve women’s financial security, like on-demand pay, long-term care, and caregiving. She has nearly two decades of experience in developing research and thought leadership in retirement and investing. She has a Ph.D. and MS in Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts Boston, an MBA in Finance from Suffolk University, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
Hunter Bethea, Director of Deferred Compensation, Tennessee Treasury Department
Hunter Bethea is the Director of Deferred Compensation for the Tennessee Department of Treasury. Hunter oversees the State of Tennessee 401(k), 457(b), Optional Retirement Program, and other State-sponsored deferred compensation plans within RetireReadyTN, the State’s retirement program.
Hunter became Director in 2018 after joining the Tennessee Treasury Department as Assistant Director in 2016. In these roles, he supported a large expansion in the number of plan employers and participants, led State sponsorship of public higher education 403(b) plans, and collaborated with plan service providers and other customer-focused programs of the Tennessee Department of Treasury to enhance participant education initiatives.
Hunter attended the University of Virginia, where he earned his B.A. in Political Science, and Georgetown University, where he earned an MBA. Prior to joining the Tennessee Department of Treasury, Hunter served in multiple legislative support roles in the United States Senate.
David Blanchett, PhD, CFA, CFP, Head of Retirement Research, PGIM
David Blanchett, PhD, CFA, CFP®, is a Managing Director and Head of Retirement Research for PGIM DC Solutions. In this role, he develops research and innovative solutions to help improve retirement outcomes for investors. Prior to joining PGIM DC Solutions, David was the Head of Retirement Research for Morningstar Investment Management LLC. He is currently an adjunct professor of wealth management at The American College of Financial Services and was formerly a member of the executive committee for the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) and the ERISA Advisory Council (2018-2020).
David has published over 100 papers in a variety of industry and academic journals. His research has received awards from the Academy of Financial Services, the CFP Board, the Financial Analysts Journal, the Financial Planning Association, the International Centre for Pension Management, the Journal of Financial Planning, and the Retirement Management Journal.
Robert Boehmer, Executive Officer/Administrator, Nevada Public Employees’ Deferred Compensation Program
Rob Boehmer serves as the appointed Executive Officer/Administrator of the State of Nevada Department of Administration Public Employees’ Deferred Compensation Program (NDC). Mr. Boehmer serves the State of Nevada with over 25 years of experience in the Estate Planning/Retirement Planning/Employee Benefits Management business primarily working in the Defined Contribution and Health Industry and managing 457(b) and 403(b) Defined Contribution Plans throughout multiple western states. He has worked with a multitude of associations such as Institutional Investors, Nevada League of Cities Municipalities, Nevada Association of Counties, and a multitude of Firefighter and Police Associations, School Districts, and Teachers Associations in assisting their members with benefits management and 457(b) Deferred Compensation/403(b) Plan management and administration. Rob served as a member of the NAGDCA Executive Board from 2018-2023 and Board President in 2021-2022.
Emily Boesen, Public Information Officer, Indiana State Comptroller
A born and raised Hoosier, Emily has nearly 20 years of experience working within communications and marketing for the State of Indiana. She kick started her career working for the state legislature as a press secretary where she discovered her passion for public service. She continued her service helping three major agencies through crisis, rebranding and outreach (to name a few challenges) and landed in the Office of State Comptroller three years ago. She has hit the ground running to utilize her communication skills and knowledge of state employees to help drastically boost the engagement amongst participants.

Beth Conradson Cleary, Executive Director, City of Milwaukee Deferred Compensation Plan
Beth Conradson Cleary currently serves as the Executive Director of the City of Milwaukee’s 457(b) Deferred Compensation Retirement Plan. Previously, she served as the Deputy Director of the City of Milwaukee Employees’ Retirement System (ERS). Prior to that, Ms. Conradson Cleary was an Assistant City Attorney and served as general counsel to the ERS. Ms. Conradson Cleary earned her BA from Creighton University; her MA in Bioethics from the Medical College of WI; and her JD and Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Marquette University Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Marquette Elder’s Advisor Law Journal.

Michael Conrath, CFP, CPRC, is the Chief Retirement Strategist and Head of the Retirement Insights Strategy Team for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Chris DiPrimio, Director, BlackRock
Chris DiPrimio, CAIA®, Director, is a Senior Product Strategist with Systematic Active Equity. In this capacity, he leads SAE strategy across US Wealth and Retirement, as well as sustainability across the Americas. He is responsible for providing a link between investment teams and all client groups and for providing insight on the SAE product platform.
Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. DiPrimio was a member of BlackRock Alternatives Specialists (BAS) Group where he served as a Product Specialist for alternative investment products offered to private wealth clients. He was also an Investment Management Associate within the US Wealth Advisory Group at BlackRock, serving Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors in the Southeast US. Mr. DiPrimio began his career at Hamilton Lane Advisors, a global private equity firm.
Mr. DiPrimio earned a BS in Finance, summa cum laude, and a minor in Biochemistry from The Honors College at Millersville University.
Dick Friedman, Partner / Managing Director, Head of Institutional Fiduciary Services, Creative Planning
Dick is the Managing Director of Corporate Retirement and Head of Fiduciary Services at IRON Fiduciary. He leads business development for the company’s Corporate Retirement Services platform, developing outsourced fiduciary solutions. He has authored research on the changing regulatory environment. Prior to IRON, Dick was a Tax Manager at Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, and a market maker at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University, is FINRA Series 65 licensed, and earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation from Fiduciary360. Victoria Fung is a senior defined contribution specialist for the Global Retirement Strategy team. The team leads an enterprise wide retirement strategy, advises on new product development, and helps amplify the firm’s voice in retirement policy and thought leadership domains globally. Victoria is responsible for relationships with our largest defined contribution clients and prospects, through distribution of investment solutions and thought leadership. Jenny Glowacki is the Head of In-Plan Retirement Income and Advice for Retirement Services at Corebridge Financial. She provides strategic direction and thought leadership toward developing, evolving and ongoing management of products and services for in-plan retirement income and advice, guidance and education. Jenny’s team is passionate about engaging people in their workplace savings plans with their money to ensure that they can confidently build toward and live a fulfilling retirement. Jenny joined the company in 2020. Previously, she spent many years with Great-West Financial and Empower Retirement where she held a number of positions in the actuarial, product strategy, development and management of retirement income products. Jenny is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries.
Ted Grigsby, Senior Consultant – Executive Director, Hyas Group
As a senior consultant at Hyas Group I serve cities, counties, and other government agencies as an Investment/Retirement Plan advisor for both DC and DB plans. I’ve been at the Hyas Group for approximately 5 yrs and prior to that worked at another RIA for 12 years. I began my career at Franklin Templeton where I worked for 4 to 5 years. (20yrs+ in the investment industry).
My focus is developing investment line-ups and portfolio’s for plan sponsors that seek to provide opportunities for strong performance. This requires having an understanding of all types of investments and investment vehicles and helping plan sponsor measure the prudence and effectiveness of such investments and implementing where appropriate. We are constantly engaged with investment managers and record-keepers and seek to keep up on new developments and investment opportunities.

Kelsey Harris, Defined Contribution Plans Marketing Specialist, Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System
Kelsey Harris is the Defined Contribution Plans Marketing Specialist for the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System (MOSERS), serving over seven years in her position. Prior to joining the plan, she worked within the marketing and graphic design space for an additional 5 years. Her primary roles with the State of Missouri Deferred Compensation Plan include maintaining the plan’s website, creating social media content, overseeing the plan’s email and event registration systems, generating plan reports, assisting with video production, and various other marketing tasks.
Ms. Harris received her Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and Minor in Business from William Woods University and has earned her Investment Foundations® Certificate from the CFA Institute.
G. Ben Hensarling, Deputy Director of Retirement, State of Florida
Ben Hensarling has over a decade of experience leading mega-DC plans. In his current role, he is responsible for a mandatory alternative DC plan for the State University System of Florida, and has oversight of the operations and member service of the Florida Retirement System Pension Plan. His professional experience extends to marketing, communications, policy, investments, contracts, and human resources.
Greg Jenkins, Managing Director and Head of Institutional Defined Contribution, Invesco
Greg Jenkins, CFA is a Managing Director and Head of Institutional Defined Contribution on the North American Institutional team. As a managing director, he and his team are responsible for new business development and relationship management with plan sponsors and consultants. Greg has been heavily involved in Invesco’s DC research for more than 10 years. In addition to his role at Invesco, Jenkins currently serves as co-president of the Defined Contribution Real Estate Council. Kevin Kneafsey Senior Portfolio Manager Allspring Global Investments
Kevin Kneafsey is a senior portfolio manager for the Systematic Edge Multi-Asset team at Allspring Global Investments. He joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). Before WFAM, Kevin was at Schroders Asset Management, where he worked as a senior advisor in the multi-asset group. Prior to that, Kevin served as the head of research for BlackRock’s multi-asset client solutions team. He held several senior positions at Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors—which later became Barclays Global Investors (BGI)—including chief strategist for the global market strategies group. Kevin formed a client solutions group at BGI, which was responsible for liability hedging, optimal beta/risk parity, and optimal alpha. He has taught classes at the University of Arizona in the Eller College of Management and at the University of California, Berkeley, in the masters in financial engineering program at the Haas School of Business. He currently teaches at CalPoly San Luis Obispo. Kevin began his investment industry career in 1994.
Marla Kreindler, Partner, Morgan Lewis
I am a partner with Morgan Lewis and have specialized in negotiating plan contracts for the past several decades. In particular, I am a stable value, investment and recordkeeping contract specialist. Other types of contracts that are getting attention lately and that I have experience with include: managed accounts and investment advice contracts, investment management agreements, collective trust and lifetime income contracts, trust and custody agreements, securities lending agreements, etc.
I consider contracts from a range of perspectives, including the plan’s goals and objectives and the intended benefits of the contract and the services to be provided, legal regulatory compliance, risk management and contract drafting to support the best interests of plan participants and beneficiaries. I have significant experience teaching plan fiduciaries and staff on contracts 101 and to help them improve both the efficiency of their plan contracting but also the results.
Hank Levy, Treasurer-Tax Collector/Plan Officer, Alameda County
Henry C. Levy (Hank) has been Alameda County’s Treasurer-Tax Collector since 2017. In that function, he serves as the Plan Officer for the Alameda County Deferred Compensation Plan. Under his leadership, the plan received NAGDCA’s 2022 Leadership Award.
Before becoming the county’s Treasurer-Tax Collector, Hank managed his accounting firm, The Henry Levy Group, CPAs and Consultants, which he founded in 1991. He grew it to over 30 people in 6 offices in Northern California. He sold the firm in 2016.
Hank is an accredited community college instructor. He has taught accounting, employee benefits, and economics at various Universities and colleges in the Bay Area. Hank received his B.A. from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, his M.A. from San Jose State University, and his accounting education from California State University, Hayward (now Cal East Bay) and Golden Gate University.

Rachel Molina is Marketing Director, Government and Taft-Hartley markets, for Empower. In her role, she is responsible for developing and implementing B2B marketing programs and end-to-end strategies that share the Empower value proposition, brand story, and product offering in the Government and Taft-Hartley markets.
Rachel joined the organization in 2013 and has also worked for Prudential in various marketing roles. She has 19 years of experience in the financial services industry.

(NAGDCA) and the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA), which recognized her with its 2023 Rising Star award. Dan Morrison, Head of Government Markets, Empower
Dan Morrison is Senior Vice President of Government Markets for Empower. In his role, he leads the firm’s government segment, overseeing sales, client retention and financial results. The government business comprises nearly 5,000 plans and 3.7 million government workers. As such, Empower is a top provider of 457 plans by assets and participants, and its customers include 30 state 457 programs.
Dan joined the organization in 2004. He’s held increasingly responsible sales and service positions, including Sales Director and Managing Director. In the latter role, he led 70 directors and relationship managers. Most recently, Dan served as Vice President and Practice Leader for Empower’s not-for-profit segment, where he was responsible for overall sales and retention in the company’s growing book of healthcare, education, faith-based and other not-for-profit plan sponsors.

Malik Murray — Senior Vice President, Head of Business Development, Institutional Marketing
Malik serves as head of business development and also cultivates and services client relationships. Prior to joining Ariel in 2004, he spent eight years with Bank One Brokerage, most recently serving as the lead broker on the European shift for its international exchange-traded products group. Malik is a member of the board of trustees of DePaul University where he sits on the finance committee and serves as co-vice chair of the athletics committee. He also serves on the school board of Ariel Community Academy and is currently a director for the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP), the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the DePaul University Department of Finance Advisory Board. Malik served on the board of trustees as a member of the executive committee for St. Ignatius College Prep for six years where he established and chaired the school’s first diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging committee. Andrew Ness, Consultant, SageView Advisory Group
Andrew is a Retirement Plan Consultant. His area of expertise is in administrative consulting for governmental retirement plans. He regularly works with clients on topics such as plan design, fiduciary best practices, fee benchmarking, regulatory updates, and vendor RFP projects, including contract negotiations.
Andrew has over 20 years of experience working with public sector defined contribution plans. He is a member of SageView’s Public Sector DC Committee. Andrew has assisted public sector DC plans with RFP projects the represent over 3 million participants and $126 billion in assets. He has worked with Cities and Counties across the United States and has worked with 20 State-sponsored DC plans. Christelle Ngnoumen, PhD, AVP, Behavioral Finance Research, Voya Financial
Christelle Ngnoumen, Ph.D., is AVP of Behavioral Finance Research at Voya Financial where she leads internal and external behavioral research efforts dedicated to optimizing Voya’s digital solutions and helping people build a stronger financial future. Prior to Voya, she led behavioral science at Headspace Health, a leading provider of wellbeing and mental health solutions. Dr. Ngnoumen is a behavior change expert, has published on the topic, and has worked with companies and government agencies on digital experiences and services that improve health and wealth outcomes. She earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Harvard University. She is based in San Francisco.
Chris Nikolich, Head of Glide Path Strategies, AllianceBernstein
Christopher Nikolich joined AB in 1994 and is the Head of Glide Path Strategies (US) in the Multi-Asset Solutions business, leading research efforts relating to the design and management of effective target-date and lifetime income fund solutions. He is the author of defined contribution (DC)-related research, such as Designing the Future of Target-Date Funds: A New Blueprint for Improving Retirement Outcomes. In addition, Nikolich has authored thought leadership focused on topics such as plan design, asset allocation, inflation and the design and evaluation of retirement income solutions. Nikolich also works closely with clients in the implementation of AB’s research to structure their customized target-date and lifetime income funds. He holds a BA in finance from Rider University, an MBA in finance from New York University, is the Vice Chair of Rider University’s Investment Subcommittee and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association.

Alice Palmer is an experienced Leader, Advocate, Business Partner, ERISA and Adviser’s Act attorney currently serving as Vice President, RPS Chief Counsel at Lincoln Financial. Notably Alice serves on the Department of Labor’s ERISA Advisory Council and is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Pennsylvania’s Carey Law School.
Alice is active with several industry trades including the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI), American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), the SPARK Institute and the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP). Currently, Alice serves on ACLI’s Retirement Plans Committee and is a member of the NSCP’s Planning Committee Board. Alice is also active with a number of other organizations including the Philadelphia Barristers Association, Minority Corporate Counsel Association and as a former fellow and supporter of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
Prior to joining Lincoln, Alice was a leader within the retirement plans legal team at Nationwide Financial.

Matt Petersen, Executive Director, NAGDCA
Matt Petersen joined NAGDCA as the association’s first full time dedicated staff resource in the summer of 2017. In his role as Executive Director he works directly with the Executive Board and staff to develop strategies to help the organization achieve its mission and vision. Prior to joining NAGDCA Matt spent 13 years on active duty in the US Air Force as a C-17 evaluator pilot and air drop specialist, and served three deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Matt is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He also has a Master’s in Social Sciences from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs at Syracuse University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Doug Peterson, Chief Security Information Officer, Empower
Doug Peterson is the Chief Information Security Officer for Empower. He leads Empower’s information security team, which is responsible for the company’s cybersecurity efforts that secure and protect information trusted to Empower by its customers and ensures the overall resiliency of the company. Doug joined Empower in 2015 and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has served as Chief Security Officer for Nationstar Mortgage, Aurora Bank and Lehman Brothers Bank and has held various leadership roles at Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. He is the SPARK Data Security Oversight Board Chair and belongs to several advisory boards across the industry and country. Prior to his corporate career, Doug served in the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst in the 82nd Airborne Division and the 19th Special Forces Group. Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with minors in information systems management and international business from Regis University. He is a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) through DRI International, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) through the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 and an Information Security Systems Professional through Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC).
Brooke Rowden, Defined Contribution Plans Education and Marketing Coordinator, Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System
Brooke Rowden, MBA, is the Defined Contribution Plans Education and Marketing Coordinator for the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System (MOSERS). In this role, she oversees all defined contribution plan communication including emails, video, social media, website, print, and presentation outreach. For over 15 years, Brooke has helped to create innovative marketing campaigns and build educational programs that not only inform state of Missouri employees of the importance of saving and investing for their future, but also entertain them in the process.
Brooke has a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Missouri State University and a Claritas® Investment Certificate from the CFA Institute.
Hannah Schriner, Managing Principal, DC Practice Group Lead, Meketa Investment Group
Ms. Schriner joined Meketa in 2017 and has been in the financial services industry for 16 years. She serves as consultant for discretionary and non discretionary Defined Benefit, and Defined Contribution plan sponsors, focusing on investment policy design, asset allocation and investment structure modeling, investment manager due diligence and fund performance analysis, and fiduciary education. In addition, she leads Meketa’s Defined Contribution Practice Group and is a member of Meketa’s Fiduciary Management (OCIO) Investment, and Consulting Leadership Committees. Ms. Schriner is also a member of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) Executive Committee, Investment Policy & Design Leadership Committee, and Retirement Research Center (RRC’s) Consultant Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA) Investment Committee.

She is an experienced leader, having managed accounting, member/participant services, disability, actuarial and technical teams. Sue Walton is a senior retirement strategist at Capital Group, home of American Funds. She has 26 years of industry experience and has been with Capital Group for eight years. Prior to joining Capital, Sue was a director at Towers Watson Investment Services. Before that, she was an investment consultant at Mercer Investment Consulting and Ellwood Associates.
She holds an MBA from DePaul University with a concentration in finance and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics and international business from Marquette University. Sue is based in Chicago.
