(NAGDCA) is pleased to announce the second NAGDCAST for 2006 entitled, Unforeseeable Emergency Provisions which will include hardship provisions found in 401(k) and 403(b) plans versus provisions found in 457 plans. The event will take place on June 27th at 1:00p.m. EDT. Over 200 participants are expected to be in attendance. Edward Lilly, Deputy Executive Director, State of New York Deferred Compensation Plan, will serve as the webcast moderator. Speakers include: Marilyn Collister, National Director of Regulatory Policy, Great-West Retirement Services and Michael Halpin, Executive Director, Maryland Supplemental Retirement Plans. Distributions involving an unforeseeable emergency are often a bit tricky and are frequently misunderstood. The circumstances that make up an unforeseen emergency vary depending on the facts of each case. The goal of this webcast is to offer insight and clarity into unforeseeable emergency provisions and to provide a forum for questions that may be faced by plan administrators nationwide. Registration is free for government members but the event is open to non-members for $100.00. Advance registration is required prior to the start of the event at 1:00p.m. EDT. The PowerPoint presentation for this program will be available at www.nagdca.org by 11:00 EDT the morning of June 27. For more information on the webcast please visit www.nagdca.org (Latest News section, left side of screen). Be prepared for NAGDCAST #3 on 403(b) Rules and Regulations to quickly follow in early to mid August. With the release of the final version of the 403(b) Regulations coming out very soon, NAGDCA is hosting a webcast to provide the membership with an in-depth look of the finalized regulations. We anticipate this webcast to be of great interest to our membership and the defined contribution community at large. NAGDCA will send out an alert once a date has been selected. NAGDCA's mission is to unite representatives from state and local governments along with private sector organizations that service and support defined contribution plans. NAGDCA provides an environment to foster growth in professional development of its members through networking with peers, educational opportunities and information sharing that includes comprehensive publications, reports and surveys. NAGDCA will promote and support federal legislative initiatives for the advancement of retirement plans. |
