Government Defined Contribution Leaders Meet with Congressional and Federal Representatives

(Lexington, KY) - The National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, Inc. (NAGDCA)'s Executive Board has met this week with key congressional staff and treasury department officials.

The purpose of the meetings is to reinforce NAGDCA's views on 3 main issues:
  • EGTRRA Permanency.
  • Institute a National Retirement Savings Day at a federal level to heighten awareness of Defined Contribution plans.
  • The ongoing issue of plan simplification and its presence in current pension bills.
The Board met with key Senate and House offices, congressional tax committee staff, and the Department of the Treasury. "As the voice of state and local governmental defined contribution plans, it is important NAGDCA show support for legislation and proposals that further the defined contribution industry and benefit plan participants," said Della Williamson, NAGDCA President.

NAGDCA is the country's leading organization of defined contribution retirement plan administrators and financial service providers. It represents nearly every state deferred compensation plan, as well as numerous other governmental and public sector defined contribution plans, and over 105 companies in the financial services industry. Its mission is to focus on retirement planning for public sector employees participating in 457, 403(b), 401(a) and 401(k) retirement plans; assets in these plans tripled during the 1990's.
