Government Defined Contribution Leaders Meet with Congressional and Federal Representatives

(Lexington, KY) - The National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, Inc. (NAGDCA) conducted their annual Capitol Hill visits this week in Washington, DC.

The NAGDCA Executive Board met with congressional staff, Treasury officials, and others to discuss issues affecting state and local government defined contribution plans. The Hill visits provide NAGDCA with the opportunity to share its expertise and experience with officials from all levels of government.

Specifically, NAGDCA discussed the President's Savings and Retirement Proposals/Employer Retirement and Savings Accounts (ERSA) and their impact on government defined contribution plans, along with the important distinctions between governmental defined contribution plans.

"As the voice of local and state governmental defined contribution plans, it is important NAGDCA show support for legislation and proposals that further the defined contribution industry and benefit plan participants," said Tony Hines, NAGDCA President and Assistant Director - OFM, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System.

NAGDCA is the country's leading organization of defined contribution retirement plan administrators and financial service providers. It represents nearly every state deferred compensation plan, as well as numerous other governmental and public sector defined contribution plans, and over 105 companies in the financial services industry. Its mission is to advance the public sector defined contribution community to enable government workers to save for a secure retirement.
