NAGDCA Is Now Accepting Nominations for the 2008 Awards Program

(Lexington, KY) – The National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, Inc. (NAGDCA) is currently accepting nominations for its 2008 Awards Program. The 2008 Awards Program is made up of two prestigious awards, NAGDCA's 2008 Leadership Recognition Award and NAGDCA's 2008 Media Recognition Award.

NAGDCA 2008 Leadership Recognition Award
Deadline for nominations: June 16, 2008
The award recognizes outstanding achievements in effective communication, plan design & administration, and National Save for Retirement Week activities. Every submission will be recognized for their achievements with the top three submissions in each category being recognized with Special Awards of Distinction. Submissions are accepted from government members only. All nominees whose innovations have resulted in a sound improvement in their plans will be recognized with an award. NAGDCA welcomes nominations from 401(a), 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans. Prior submissions will not be considered for an award.

NAGDCA 2008 Media Recognition Award
Deadline for nominations: July 12, 2008
Nominations may be made by media publishers and/or reporters, or directly from the NAGDCA membership. The award is given for a specific article or outstanding cumulative coverage over the fiscal year, July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008. NAGDCA members and the members of the media have been encouraged to submit published articles or reports that they believe have been particularly effective in discussing issues or concepts related to retirement issues generally and/or administration of defined contribution plans that relate to state or local governments and their employees.

All 2008 awards will be presented at this year's annual conference which is being held September 13 – 17, in Baltimore, MD.

NAGDCA's mission is to unite representatives from state and local governments along with private sector organizations that service and support defined contribution plans. NAGDCA provides an environment to foster growth in professional development of its members through networking with peers, educational opportunities and information sharing that includes comprehensive publications, reports and surveys. NAGDCA will promote and support federal legislative initiatives for the advancement of retirement plans.
