The National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, Inc. (NAGDCA) has developed a presentation which provides an overview of the various types of retirement plans (457, 403(b), 401(k)), differences and similarities, investment structures and policies, online resources, etc. The presentation is available free of charge to any college/university classroom focused on financial planning.
NAGDCA members from the public and private sectors travel to the university to present in-person. The members are well-versed on the topic and offer students an insight to how they began their careers.
Anyone interested in having NAGDCA present to a class can contact Tracy Tucker at ttucker@amrms.com or 859-514-9210.
To date, NAGDCA has visited classrooms at Southern Arkansas University in Monrovia, AR and Concordia University in Portland, OR. Students and professors in both classes gave high marks to the presentation and both professors plan to incorporate the material into future classes. Students indicated the information was an “eye opener” and their interest in retirement planning has increased. NAGDCA is scheduled to visit the University of Georgia later this month.
NAGDCA is the country's leading organization of defined contribution retirement plan administrators and financial service providers. It represents nearly every state deferred compensation plan, as well as numerous other governmental and public sector defined contribution plans, and over 150 companies in the financial services industry. Its mission is to focus on retirement planning for public sector employees participating in 457(b), 403(b), 401(a) and 401(k) retirement plans.
