Community Service Project
We hope that many of you can join us for this year's NAGDCA 2010 Annual Conference Community Service Project, sponsored by Nationwide Retirement Solutions on Saturday, September 11th, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. This year we will be building 20 bikes and 15 bookcases to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia. The good news is that weather won't be a factor (for all those who remember last year's torrential downpours in Austin) because we will be working within the Marriott hotel. Representatives of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia as well as the Mayor's office will be on hand. All you need to bring is a desire to make the difference in the life of a child.
Come in comfortable clothing and meet in the lobby of the Marriott at 1:00 pm.
Please RSVP to Meredith Clements at clemenm3@nationwide.com by September 1, 2010, if you plan on participating.
For all NAGDCA Annual Conference attendees who will not be able to participate in the Community Service Project on Saturday, there is another way that you can help support the children in our host city of Philadelphia. Please bring with you to the President's Reception on Sunday, September 12th, a new children's book to help us fill the bookshelves we will be building on Saturday and donating to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia. As an incentive, for all those donating a book, you will have the opportunity to win one of 50 autographed books, written and illustrated by Marc Brown (which you may either keep, or donate). For those of you familiar with the Arthur, the aardvark books and PBS television series, Marc is best known as Arthur's creator and he will be joining us at the NAGDCA President's Reception. So, please think about joining our community service project by bringing a children's book (suitable for children ages 5 through 12) to this year's President's Reception.
